1  WebOS News, Rumors and Speculation / WebOS News and Rumors / Re: iPhone 3.0? on: March 18, 2009, 06:18:51 AM
I found an article that says it has "100 new features" http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/03/17/iphone_3_0_100_new_features_for_users_1000_new_apis_for_devs.html but that's probably all marketing buzz, because the main one they're pushing is cut and paste (WinMo has been doing that for years anyway). And a landscape mode for notes.

Big deal, where's the multitasking? To be fair, they're also getting stereo bluetooth, but most mid-high end phones have that already. If they release new, better hardware then that could make a difference though.
2  General / General Chat / Re: Bleh, Safari 4 on: March 16, 2009, 04:19:29 AM
I have to agree, firefox is the best for plugins; I use firebug myself whenever I get lost in the code. Safari should stay with the Apple fanboys.
3  WebOS Hardware Discussion / Palm Pre / Will the 8GB storage limit be a dealbreaker? on: March 16, 2009, 03:52:45 AM
Just wanted to see what others thought. I was reading an article on precentral comparing a 4GB shuffle to the 8GB Pre, and it seems that considering the size, they could have put in more space if they wanted to. Or at least offer the option for 16gb or 32gb like the iPhone. Or maybe they just wanted to keep the price low?
4  WebOS Hardware Discussion / Palm Pre / Pre CPU vs. iPhone CPU? on: March 16, 2009, 03:30:51 AM
Anyone know what the relative speeds of the two CPUs are? I just read the article on how the Pre totally outperformed the iPhone in webpage loading times, wondering if this is mostly attributed to the CPU or other factors? And I wonder if the fast CPU would make for decent gaming on the Pre as well (I'd love a good NES or SNES emulator).
5  WebOS Mojo Development / Porting applications / Re: Will ported apps cost more or less on the Pre? on: March 06, 2009, 06:42:57 PM
I'm thinking prices will start out high, from what I read Palm OS developers basically need to start from scratch when moving to webOS. Hopefully Palm will provide some good tools for conversion with their SDK or soon after.

Pretty good stuff so far, looking forward to more tutorials!

Haha, nice pic of the star trek pad. I'm hoping for a tricorder attachment for the Pre myself...gotta scan for life forms, you know  Tongue

Anyone see that pic of the pre from Knight Rider? Palm denied it, but maybe it was a dummy phone from Sprint or something.
8  General / General Chat / Re: Anyone buy the Rough Cuts? on: March 06, 2009, 10:40:07 AM
nah I'm not gonna buy it, I'm planning on just using tutorials and stuff from online and from Palm.
