Launch Background task

Hello I would like to know if there is a way to launch background task comming from unique script.


I explain me :  I'm writing an application which will have to write on a data base. I would like to regroup all the code concerning data base (opendatabase, row creation ...)

I would create a script which do all that but I don't understand how to call it...?

I first thought of service in palm but if i'm right we could create our own services ?


Could someone help about this ?
